Research Design, Theoretical Framework & Methodological Alignment
A successful dissertation depends on more than a strong research problem—it requires complete alignment between the problem for research, research question(s), purpose statement, theoretical or conceptual framework, research design, and methodology. In this personalized 120-minute coaching session, we will guide you through developing a coherent and defensible research plan that meets doctoral standards and committee expectations.
Together, we will evaluate the alignment of your study, refine your research question(s), and help you select the most appropriate research design and theoretical or conceptual framework for your investigation. We will also ensure that your methodological choices are logically justified, consistent with your research purpose, and capable of producing evidence that answers your research questions.
Throughout the session, you'll receive expert, strategic, and timely feedback that can be immediately incorporated into your dissertation. We will identify and address common methodological weaknesses—including problems with alignment, sampling, data collection, data analysis, and threats to internal, external, construct, and credibility validity—that frequently result in proposal revisions, committee concerns, and unnecessary delays.
Whether you are preparing your dissertation proposal or refining your research plan before data collection, this session will provide the clarity and direction needed to move forward with confidence.
Ideal for students who are:
Selecting a research design or methodology
Choosing or refining a theoretical or conceptual framework
Ensuring alignment among the problem, purpose, research questions, and methods
Preparing for proposal defense or responding to committee feedback
Seeking to strengthen the methodological rigor of their dissertation
Outcome: Leave with a fully aligned and academically defensible research plan, a clearly justified methodological approach, and a stronger foundation for proposal approval, successful dissertation research, and final committee acceptance.
